'the heap (of ruins)'; Douay-Rheims: Hai) was a city in Canaan, mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. According to the Book of Joshua, it was conquered by the Israelites, headed by Joshua."

It would be funny if a city run by artificial intelligence were destroyed first and then AI became the word for 'heap'

To me it looks like more Montauk mischief showing up as ancient history, which would explain how an ancient city had a modern English name.
