"For Now We See Through a glass darkly” Alan Keyes & The True Beginning of the Tea Party "GRASSROOTS"
15 year anniversary republishing of How and when the Tea Party truly bagan... Headed and lead by a God-fearing black patriot
“For Now We See Through a glass darkly”
Is it Biblical if visions of the future come to us in “dreams” or through historical research and what the church has called “listening to the holy spirit” ? – Does not Judeo-Christian teaching allow for this? Or are these prophetic visions “extreme” strategic simulations from pattern “seeing minds”?

Alan Keyes Campaign Button 2000. Created by Author and worn by thousands of Republican “original Tea party” Delegates at the National Convention
A personal blog…
In 1998 I had a dream, a “vision” that I did not clearly understand. I woke my wife up at 4am and told her emphatically that America would have our first African American president in 2008! As I researched all the possible candidates from an early Libertarian/Pro-Life point of view I discovered Alan Keyes. This must be him I thought, Alan must be destined to be president in 2008 – So I put all my efforts towards this end by co-managing the Minnesota State campaign in 2000, building one of the most visited websites of the 2000 campaign at DECLARATION.ORG and part of the tipping point for the Alan Keys for VP delegation at the national Republican Convention where my co manager distributed the campaign buttons, and 1 in 3 delegates proudly wore the button I designed above.
The campaign button I designed and printed above was being worn by a large percentage of the early “tea party” republicans at the national convention in 2000 was evidence of this vision.
From the offset my goal was for Alan Keyes to get the VP nomination, my vision was typical of strategic thinkers and long term -it was 2008 which my dream showed would have our first African American President, I was looking forward to 2008, not 2000. To the angst of my co-manager who was truly leading this endeavor….who would catch me positioning for the VP nomination and not the “presidential” office which was his desired goal. I also tried to no avail to call this “grass roots” movement at declaration.org the “Tea Party” – every one told me it was silly, the tea party was an “event” not a political affiliation! (We actually requested directly from Alan to use “Tea Party” on our websites & campaign flyers but we were denied) “grass roots” is what describes our movement” Keyes insisted!) Ultimately, we designed & printed several thousands of Keyes for VP buttons that were being worn by thousands of the original grass roots (tea party) delegates at the 2000 national convention.
GW Bush cut this possible future short with the excellent but possibly history changing choice of Dick Cheney that eased the minds of the early “tea party” which was still unsure of this Texas Governor. (A selfish choice! not positioning a candidate to run in 2008) As for myself I began to realize the first African American president would most likely be a democrat.
Just 2 years later it was prophetically appropriate when Barack Obama was being coronated Senator from Illinois and Chicagoland. Alan Keyes moved to Illinois to ironically run against the Leftist Radical who was being groomed for the presidency in 2008. The Chicagoland machine actually arranged for Obama to run unopposed up to his coronation, that was, until Keyes was requested to come to Illinois and debate this unabashed socialist with his contrasting libertarian and Christian ideals. Surely Alan Keyes understood as I did at that first debate – Barack Obama was the “Chosen” one. (spoken/written to Alan since, and he understood as I did after that first debate in 2002)
We review the Alan Keyes History in this Radio Interview
I Continued to hope and pray for the opposite. Putting efforts to support John McCain even though an entire year of my life was spent politically attacking him in 1999 (our “grassroots” Minnesota Campaign was the only one on Super Tuesday 2000 to beat him – even though the Tribune polls predicted him the winner). So much for polls by our supernaturally controlled media! Is history written in stone? Possibly, but I still believe that Dreams and Visions are calls to action.
In 2008 I had another “vision” that crossed party lines, after simply doing historical research I was left with that same “rare” gut feeling I had not had since 2002 , This time I came to an understanding that Sarah Palin and Joseph Biden would be the VP Nominees. So I took a chance and published my first ever essay to set these predictions in stone. See the article here. The rest is history.

5/31/2023. The following is my NAIVE RESPONSES to Alan Keyes as written a decade ago. I WAS WRONG! Alan was RIGHT. HIS response to me was not just BRILLIANT, but CORRECT. My response below was the foolish one. it simply took me an additional DECADE and a DJT election run to discover.
Many years later I got the opportunity to Dialogue with Ambassador Keyes on World Net Daily. He Since reposted our conversation on his Website . Alan it seems has chosen to completely remove himself from any political affiliations unless we have the perfect Christian candidate that meets his criteria? And ridicule any one who disagrees…..
I have grown wiser since my youthful strategist days 16 years ago, and more recently since 3 years ago have finally come to a point that is more in line with what Chuck Missler has said on Christian Voting”
“”Treat your vote as a franchise given by God. Not many countries enjoy this opportunity. You have no right to bemoan the loss of that which you did not seek to protect. Finally, I believe our solution ultimately lies in the prayer closet rather than in the ballot box. I believe God can restore this beachhead for the Gospel to a hurting world.””
A DEBATE on Christian Voting between me and Alan Keyes back in 2008 on world net Daily. I WAS WRONG.
Keyes Answer to me was Brilliant… It took me a decade to see the RINOS within the Republican Party.. Alan understood…. He liked our correspondance to the point that He republised it at his LoyaltoLiberty.com webste
Alan, as you may remeber, I co-ran your Minnesota Campaign in 2000 (we beat McCain, even though he was the projected winner – it took the tribune a week to acknowledge) and as you may remember was responsible along with Tom G. for all those Keyes for VP buttons at the national convention, as well as the original Declaration.org grass roots website that we developed.
There is brilliance as usual at your Loyal to Liberty site, but I believe you are wrong my friend about voting NO to Romney. I’m exhausted from dealing with the Anarchist fringe Ron Paul fanatics who would never vote GOP unless it was their own messiah – and now find one of the men that I most respect is advocating NOT VOTING for any Republican nominee ……… well, to paraphrase Dietrich Bonhoeffer “not to vote (for Romney) is to vote (for Obama)” And for my children’s sake, I must do my best and cast my vote for the better candidate. God bless
ps, It was a dream of an African American president in 2008 that caused me to spend 9 months of my life leading the Minnesota 2000 campaign and my focus was on the VP position from the very beginning. Yet, when I saw you debate Obama for the Illinois Senate in 2002, I instantly understood It was a democrat who had been chosen… Did you understand this as well?

Milton, When I ran for President I did so to offer Americans who adhere to the principles of America’s Declaration of Independence a choice for President that represented their will. I ran, therefore, pure and simply as an American. Then as now my only “dream” was to uphold the vision of God acknowledging liberty that is America’s dream. Like the men who signed the Declaration, I believe that, by trusting in God’s Providence, we can realize that dream. We can do so not only for ourselves but for all people willing to acknowledge God; trust in His endowment of right; and unite in supporting a constitution and laws that respect the “laws of nature and of nature’s God.”
In my campaign for President in 2000 I did my best to exemplify, in all I said and stood for, that simple premise of America’s character: In God We Trust.
If, when you watched my debates with Obama in 2004, you were dreaming of an African American president, then it’s no wonder you “understood it was a democrat who had been chosen”. Obama was made to order to fulfill that racially motivated delusion. I stood against him precisely because the idolization of race, or any other artifact of human understanding, abandons the premise that endows right and justice equally for all, as conceived by our Creator, not ourselves; as understood according to God’s will, not the often vain, invidious, and sometimes utterly false categories of our self-conceit.In the literal sense, Obama was lifted up to be an “American Idol”, the focus of the self-obsessed, self-consuming passions, vices and vain material ambitions that have been at war with the God acknowledging vision of the Declaration of Independence since before that document was penned. Tragically, the self-consuming aspect of that idolatry finds its expression in the holocaust of abortion; the hedonistic debasement of the vocation to procreate; the degradation of marriage and the natural rightness of the God-endowed family. It appears as well in this generation’s abandonment of its responsibility toward posterity, as we support or tolerate politics and government policies that prepare an unimaginable mountain of debt to crush and enslave generations to come.
It saddens me to say it, but the fallacy you use to justify your vote for Romney falls prey, in a negative sense, to the same kind of idolatrous delusion that informed your “dream of an African American president.” Only now you are not driven by your commitment to a false and idolatrous hope. You are driven by your surrender to an equally false and idolatrous fear. In 2008 Obama was the golden calf. He became the focus of America’s longing to escape the temptation to self-destruction occasioned by the fragrant guilt still wafting from the sins of the past. But he also offered an opportunity to surrender to that temptation, made all the more powerful by the unacknowledged conviction of guilt produced by sins we presently perpetrate against ourselves and our posterity. Mesmerized by the false idol of hope he was made to appear in 2008, the nation was led to cast itself into the abyss. Now as we fall, that false idol of hope has morphed into a flaming, hideous monster of destruction. Out of the depths we cry for deliverance, yet on account of our guilt and self-delusion we fear to cry, with all our heart, unto the Lord.
This fear and halfheartedness doom us to destruction. Unable simply to stifle our cry, those who stand to benefit from our destruction work to misdirect it toward another version of the self-made god. And now the vote you cast will give that other idol worth, spurning again the true Providence of God that time and again assured America’s survival. God did so, in spite of all our sins, because from the depths of fear, with deep repentance, came voices that had not forgotten the Word of their Creator, and would not cast their lot with anyone but Him.
In times like these we are challenged to remember the true meaning of faith. When a false idol of fear drives us into the arms of a false idol of hope, the truth of our faith lies in our willingness to trust in the eyes of the spirit, rejecting the vain counsels of human fear and power, in order to rely on the common sense that binds our hearts to God. That common sense calls for us to reject the idols of flesh we are made to see, and rely instead upon the power of the One true God, whose vision we have, with conscientious certainty, from within. For the sake of your children, and their children as well, I pray that God will lead you to look with this vision of conscience upon the ill nature of the bad choice you presently see as your only alternative. I pray that you will then have the moral courage to vote instead to affirm, as I think America’s founders did, the inward vision of the good God even now prepares for those who trust in Him.
p.s., That’s what I thought you were doing in 2000. It’s late, but not too late, to prove me right. .
